An interview with Revive Ambassador, Lauren Hills

Lauren Hills, Revive Ambassador

Hey Lauren, How does whole body cryotherapy at Revive help in enhancing both physical recovery and mental clarity? Can you share a personal experience or feedback from your clients?

I was initially introduced to Cryotherapy by a friend, I was gifted it as a present for my Birthday!

Once I had the voucher, I had no excuse but to jump feet first into the Cryo Chamber at -110 degrees. Natalie introduced me to the chamber, talked me through absolutely everything I needed to know and put my mind to rest with any questions I had… we chose a song ‘Million Dollar Baby, Whitney Houston remix’ I popped on my gloves and slippers… and before I knew it I went from room temp to -110 degrees in no time, singing and dancing my heart out in the chamber… Natalie just on the other-side of the glass singing and dancing with me. As soon as the 2.5 minutes was up and I stepped outside of the chamber, it was a RUSH. Not only did I feel I had conquered something mentally tough, I could feel all of my blood rushing back to the skin surface and it was a buzz I have never quite experienced before. I headed straight from Revive to the Gym and I had my first session back after Christmas… What I thought at the start of the day was going to be a sluggish session turned into a energy burst and great conditioning session… oh yes, I also slept like a baby that night. It is safe to say, I still feel the same buzz after every session, gearing me up for the day, my gym sessions and a good nights sleep.

What are the specific benefits of Red Light Therapy for mental health and physical performance? How do you integrate this therapy into your wellness routine?

I have a few major wins from Red Light therapy, mostly my skin and the speed of recovery when I had a minor tear in two places on my hamstring… doing the splits on the reformer bed! (red light paired with Cryo… my saviour!)

Revive was the first place I headed post injury and Natalie immediately made reccomendations, whilst it couldn’t save me there and then, it noticeably eased the pain and aided me for the weeks after back to recovery. Safe to say after approx 8 weeks, I was back to running and found my confidence again with loading my hamstring as usual.

I am really passionate my skin care routines and keeping a healthy appearance, so when I heard it also boosts collagen reproduction, I darted straight in. Every time I go in, its the best 17 minute power nap I’ve ever had… and everyone I speak to agrees.. you just can’t help yourself but nod off!

Can you tell me about the process and benefits of using the IR Sauna for detoxification and stress relief? How does this therapy contribute to mental and physical health?

There is nothing like sweating it out in the sauna and when aided with red-light, why would you not. I would always go from hot therapies to cold, my routine is red-light bed, red-light sauna and the Cryo!

Compression boots are a little bit underrated, have you used them?

I am new to my running journey, I got into it a few months ago… however I then hit pause because I hurt my hamstring a few weeks ago. It is safe to say I lost my mojo and wasn’t quite ready for the ache, but after 8 weeks, I bit the bullet and went for it! This is where the compression boots come in, well, they are great. Pop on the boots and let the magic happen. After a 30 minute sit in the boots, whilst sitting on my laptop replying to emails, I come out a new person… in the time I sit in the boots I can remain productive in running my 3 businesses… habit stacking for and James Clear fans!

Thanks Lauren, take care and see you soon.
